Hurricane Hill Kessel is best
described as handsome, well mannered and
productive. The ultimate “Prince Charming.” His first year offspring
is
outstanding. He is nicely marked with four impressive and evenly
spaced
horns. A mellow disposition, yet strong and confident enough to keep
two
other 2 year olds (with equally impressive horns) at bay.
Born 3/22/05, a twin, out of Craft’s Fairbanks Morse, C150-01
(Newberry
Chief Paulina X Craft’s Selena). His dam, Unzicker Scherzo D071-03
(Unzicker Spaulding X bideawee Sheelagh), We look forward to another
outstanding lamb crop next year.
Kessel was bred and raised at Hurricane Hill Farm, near Faribault, MN.
His shepherd,
Jacob Payne, a young JSBA member, is now a college freshman |
Craft’s Percy
Percy is and looks the flock’s patriarch. Born
5/4/00, a single, he is a strong ram with lots of color and four
impressive, well spaced horns. A good natured ram with people (Bob
Norton calls him “Buddy”), but not so gentle with competitors. He
peacefully shares space with younger rams.
His sire, Craft’s Hammett, a two horned ram with lovely fleece.
Hammett
was out of
Tristan (Puddleduck and Pinecroft breeding) and Windhaven Honey (this
flock active in the early 90’s). Percy’s dam was Craft’s Petunia
(Puddleduck Sir James and Craft’s Petula). Sir James had a set of
truly
outstanding horns and Petula’s sire (Diamond Jim Brady) brought the
outstanding fleece and equally outstanding horns.
Two good looks at Craft’s Percy. The big scar on his nose the
result of a recent ram “confrontation” through a barbed wire fence.
